But it also doesn’t surprise us one bit.
Co-host Marissa Jaret Winokur was fired from is leaving CBS’ The Talk.
Marissa, who was assigned to do “Mom in the Streets” segments twice a week, says that “as the show evolved, there really wasn’t room for my segments. But, she adds, “I love my co-hosts and the crew at The Talk.
She wants “to be more involved with what I’m working on,” which just happens to be developing her own cable show and launching a clothing line later this year.
In a statement, Brad Bessey, executive producer of The Talk says:
“We think the world of Marissa as a creative talent, on-air personality and super mom. This is a mutual decision based on time, not talent.
The show is trending toward more time with panel conversations and interviews, creating fewer opportunities for the mom-on-the-street segments. We are grateful beyond words to Marissa for her hard work, unrivaled energy and enthusiasm; and the integral role she played in the successful launch of The Talk. We wish her the very best.”
It still sounds like the producers just couldn’t find a spot for her on the show and decided to let her go. From the beginning, her weekly segments seemed out of place and she was always separated from the rest of the women, so this really doesn’t come as a shock.
However, we wish her the best and hope she finds luck in all her upcoming endeavors!
