Has McDreamy 2.0 Arrived!? Martin Henderson Joins Grey's Anatomy As A Series Regular!

Most Grey’s Anatomy fans are still mourning the loss of Patrick Dempsey‘s beloved character Dr. Derek Shepherd aka McDreamy!
Though as the sun sets on one hunky doctor, Shonda Rhimes gives birth to another!
It’s been reported that Martin Henderson is set to join the cast of the medical drama as a series regular! The Secrets & Lies actor will play a surgeon on the ABC show’s upcoming 12th season!

Hopefully, the addition of this new character will soften the blow after McDreamy was killed off in April.
Rhimes lamented about the loss of her character in a statement, but also teased the possibility for change:

“Absolutely never imagined saying goodbye to our ├óΓé¼╦£McDreamy. Meredith and the entire Grey’s Anatomy family are about to enter uncharted territory as we head into this new chapter of her life. The possibilities for what may come are endless. As Ellis Grey would say: The carousel never stops turning.”

After 11 seasons, maybe shaking things up is exactly what this long-running series needs! Possibly a new love interest for Meredith is in store!?
