They found love in a hopeless place!!
Many would say El Lay clubs aren’t the best venues for finding your life partner… but Matthew McConaughey and Camila Alves are the exception to that rule!
Back in 2006, the gorgeous pair met at a Sunset strip watering hole while the Interstellar star was whipping up some margaritas with buddy Lance Armstrong — and the rest is history!

Recalling his “love at first sight” moment, McConaughey told People:
“Out of the corner of my eye, this sort of aqua-green figure went floating across the frame about 20 feet in front of me. My eye went up and I remember what came out of my mouth. I didn’t say ‘Who is that?’ I went, ‘What is that?’ As l was trying to get that’s attention across the room, I went in my head, ‘This is not the kind of woman you call over across the room, McConaughey. Get your ass out of your chair and go get her.’ Which I did.”
The two instantly hit it off after M.M. invited Camila and her friends to his table, and the two went on their first date shortly after:
“We went on our first date three nights later and I knew then ├óΓé¼┬ª I’ve been wanting to go on a date with her for the last nine years and not with anybody else.”
Awww!!
And it turns out, the 46-year-old wasn’t looking for love when it all happened:
“I was very happily single and healthily single. I was not looking. I was sleeping well, I was spiritually sound, I was good hanging with me.”
That’s usually how it happens (we hear)!
Ten years and three kiddos later, the southern charmer still reflects on what drew him to the 33-year-old lifestyle guru the night they met:
“The self-respect she had, the way I understood her and her relationship with family, the way she respected me but never took anything for granted, not putting on any airs whatsoever.”
There’s no doubt these two were destined for each other! LOVES it!
