Matthew Perry Has 'Always Been In Love' With 'Friends' Costar Courteney Cox!

Matthew Perry loves Courteney Cox

How’s Matthew Perry doin’, you ask? Still somewhat in love with his former onscreen love interest, apparently!

A source told Us Weekly the 50-year-old Friends alum was actually head over heels in love with ex-costar Courteney Cox and always wished for a real life relationship with her!

The insider revealed:

“Matthew’s always been in love with her.”

Or, to phrase it like Chandler Bing: could he BE any more in love with her!?

Apparently not, per the source, who added that Perry “has never fully been able to get over” the 55-year-old actress.

Unfortunately for the actor, Court has been off the market for quite some time: she was previously married to David Arquette, with whom she shares 15-year-old daughter Coco, from 1999 to 2013 and has been dating Johnny McDavid since 2013.

But don’t feel too bad for Perry. The recently reclusive star has also had his share of high-profile romances: he dated Yasmine Bleeth and Julia Roberts in the mid-‘90s before romancing Lizzy Caplan from 2006 to 2012.

While a romance between Perry and Cox may not be on the table, a friendship still very much is. Just last week, the dynamic duo reunited for a lunch date that Cox later documented on Instagram, sharing:

Relationships come and go, but (true) friendships last forever… which is a good thing considering the pair might be reuniting for a Friends special for HBO Max!

As we reported, Perry, Cox, Jennifer Aniston, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, and David Schwimmer, are reportedly in talks of starring in a special for the new Warner Bros. streaming platform.

Sources told The Hollywood Reporter things are still in the early stages, with the six actors and series creators David Crane and Marta Kauffman currently chatting with the network. Both HBO Max and WBTV declined to comment about it, but insiders say the next step will be figuring out scheduling and logistics to make the special work.

The news is interesting, seeing as Kauffman has been very much against the idea of any sort of revival. While speaking with Rolling Stone in March, the series co-creator and exec producer explained:

“There are several reasons [why a reunion wouldn’t work]. One, the show is about a time in your life when your friends are your family. It’s not that time anymore. All we’d be doing is putting those six actors back together, but the heart of the show would be gone. Two, I don’t know what good it does us. The show is doing just fine, people love it. [A reunion] could only disappoint.”

Things change, we guess!

Maybe this reunion special will give Matthew some closure?
