Meghan King Edmonds Is 'Not Really Into Dating A Guy With Kids' - Calls Them 'Baggage'

Meghan King Edmonds hasn’t been holding back following her split from Jim Edmonds.

As you’re likely aware, the Bravolebrity and her estranged husband have three children together — 3-year-old daughter Aspen and 19-month-old twin boys Hart and Hayes — which they are co-parenting. The former MLB player also has four children from his previous relationship: two adult daughters, Hayley and Lauren, plus 14-year-old son Landon and daughter Sutton, 11.

Discussing with Nick Viall for Wednesday’s episode of The Viall Files podcast, the 35-year-old opened up about dating (or not dating) a man with children in the future:

“At the risk of sounding extremely hypocritical, I’m not really into dating a guy with kids.”

The former Real Housewives of Orange County star added:

“I love kids and I loved being a stepmom, but it’s just a lot of baggage. And I hate to call kids baggage, but kids are a lifelong commitment and you didn’t have any input into creating this child and it’s just hard. I’ve been a stepmom — it’s difficult.”

But there is a flip side which she sees that could change her mind:

“If I were to go into [a] relationship and be a stepmom, it’s hard. I know it’s hard. But on the flip side, a man with children understands what I’m going through, ’cause he has children.”

In response to the 35-year-old’s comments made to the Bachelor alum, a rep for her estranged husband stated to People:

“I wonder how Jim’s children feel about being referred to as baggage. What a disgraceful thing to say.”

Meghan has been making the rounds on podcast interviews as of lately, previously discussing her estranged relationship with the kids alongside Heather McDonald on the Juicy Scoop podcast:

“[I met them] when they [Landon and Sutton] just turned 4 and 7. They were little. They felt like my full-blown stepkids. They were my family. I did so much for them, like you would with anyone who was your family. So that really makes me sad. It’s not helping them.”

Apparently, Miz King Edmonds has “no contact” with her ex’s two youngest. She added:

“I know they’re being poisoned, being told a lot of different things that aren’t true. They know me enough to know who I am. I’ve been blocked from their phone numbers, from their Instagrams. They’ve been told things, according to Jim, that I’ve never said.”
