Meghan Markle Snubs Trump!

Meghan Markle Donald Trump Royal Dinner

Meghan Markle may not be able to voice her political opinions now that she’s a Royal — but like the Queen she can speak without speaking.
Probably the biggest hurdle the American actress had to hop when marrying Prince Harry was that as a member of the Royal family she’s not allowed to speak about politics.

At a time when Donald Trump is President of the United States no less!
As Royal expert Robert Jobson explained:

“Perhaps the most important rule that has implications for the survival of the ancient and unelected institution is that the Royal family is not allowed to vote, hold any type of political office or speak publicly about politics.”

Yes, that includes American politics — which must be particularly tough for Meghan right now, with such a “misogynistic and divisive” POTUS in office.
Oh, yeah, those are Meghan’s words, spoken back before she became the Duchess of Sussex.

(Also our words. We say it all the time. And that he’s racist, narcissistic, incompetent, and above all else consumed by greed. Eff it, we ain’t gettin’ that Prince Harry D, we’ll say what we want!)
So Meghan can’t speak about Trump’s attacks on constitutional democracy, his flagrant flirting with authoritarianism, his culpability in criminal acts related to his campaign…
It doesn’t mean she has to go shake hands and make nice with the Unindicted Co-Conspirator In Chief!

Trump and his First Lady are visiting the U.K. on June 3 — our two countries are still technically allies for now.
Buckingham Palace released their official itinerary of the three-day visit on Friday, and it included a private lunch with Prince Harry and Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth.
You’d think that kind of affair, a lunch with a foreign head of state — of HER home country — is exactly the kind of event to which the Duchess of Sussex would be invited.
But she is NOT on the official schedule, apparently opting to avoid having to cater to the whims of a child and stay home with baby Archie instead.

Harry and the Queen will then escort Donald and Melania Trump to the Picture Gallery, which will hold a special exhibition of pieces from the Royal Collection which bear historical significance to the United States.
Trump staring at art and pretending to know anything about American history for an hour? It would be hilarious if it weren’t so tragic.
Trump will also have tea with Prince Charles and Camilla, then meet with Theresa May, who has resigned but will still be Prime Minister for another two months.
On the final day of the visit, Trump will (let’s be honest) be forced to sit through the National Commemorative Event for the 75th anniversary of D-day, which will include music, testimony, and displays of military crafts.
It may actually be the closest Cadet Bone Spurs ever comes to combat.
If your in-laws were hosting lunch with Trump, would YOU go??
