prince harry and meghan markle are reportedly making a trip to africa

With Meghan Markle‘s due date looming, it seems she and Prince Harry are beginning to firm up a schedule for their baby’s first few months!
According to a report in The Sunday Times on April 21, the parents-to-be are planning a two-week tour to take place when their little one is around six months old, which would focus on youth empowerment, education, and conservation.

A palace insider shared with the newspaper:

“They hope to take the baby with them but will make a decision nearer the time. Potentially, Meghan and the baby could do some, if not all, of the trip.”

Let’s not forget that Africa has played a MAJORLY important role in the Duke and Duchess’ relationship! After just two dates, Harry swept the then Suits actress off to Botswana, which is where it’s cited they fell in love!!

Awww!!

To top it off, they made a trip back to the country in southern Africa for Miz Markle’s 36th birthday just a few months before their engagement, AND the stunning center diamond in her engagement ring is from Botswana!
It was even reported that following their May 2018 wedding, they jetted off to East Africa for a romantic honeymoon. A source shared with E! News that the newlyweds visited more than two countries shortly after their nuptials:

“It was the perfect break and blend of their passions. Restorative and the perfect holiday before starting a very busy second half of 2018.”

But the 34-year old has loved visiting the country long before his baby momma was ever in the picture.
In late July/early August 2016, the now father-to-be candidly shared with Town & Country why Africa means so much to him:

“I first came in 1997, straight after my mum died. My dad told my brother and me we were going to Africa to get away from it all. This is where I feel more like myself than anywhere else in the world. I wish that I could spend more time in Africa. You leave this place with a real appreciation of what it means to be alive.”

On a January 2017 trip to tag rhinos with the Rhino Conservation Botswana, he further opened up about the longtime importance of the country to him:

“I’ve been lucky enough to visit Botswana for more than 20 years and am incredibly fortunate to be able to call it my second home. Being Patron of RCB is an opportunity to give something back to a country that has given so much to me.”

For now, it’s all just speculation if the couple will be heading back to Africa. Buckingham Palace commented on the new report to E! News:

“Any official visits or tours undertaken by any members of the royal family are announced in the usual way.”

As we previously reported, it has been speculated that plans were potentially in the works for a “major international job” that would require the family of three to MOVE to Africa in the year after the birth of their child…
We’ll just have to wait and see for now what their post-baby plans entail!!
