EVERYONE is talking about Megxit.
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry‘s big decision not only came as a huge surprise, but it’s completely unprecedented, too. Now, new reports say the Suits alum has no problem leading the charge amid controversy.

A source explained to Us Weekly on Thursday:
“Meghan is definitely leading the charge on this.”
It seems to be an easier transition for the 38-year-old, who “doesn’t have a lot of ties to Kensington Palace, the people or the other royals” in London. The Duchess of Sussex has seemingly left her other half in England to deal with the royal wrath as she jets back to Canada, where baby Archie Harrison is in the care of a nanny and BFF Jessica Mulroney.
Although they are no doubt in choppy waters, the pair seem focused on taking it all one step at a time. A purported friend shared with Harper’s BAZAAR:
“They’re feeling confident. Harry and Meghan are aware that they’ll be criticized, perhaps even vilified, for taking control of their lives but creating a positive future for themselves and their family has always been their priority.”
The couple has been met with ample praise online, but have also faced a considerable amount of backlash from many, including Thomas Markle. Meg’s estranged father has done his best to leech onto his daughter’s royal status and milk his last name for all it’s worth (he’s been paid in the past for on-air interviews), and issued a brief statement on Wednesday to Us Weekly hours after the news broke:
“I’ll just simply say I’m disappointed.”
The only reason he’s “disappointed” is this could mean less cash for him to make off of his daughter’s struggles.
Another one of Meg’s vocal opponents, Piers Morgan, has been chiming in online with his criticism:
“People say I’m too critical of Meghan Markle – but she ditched her family, ditched her Dad, ditched most of her old friends, split Harry from William & has now split him from the Royal Family. I rest my case.”
“The one thing Meghan & Harry don’t do is ‘protect’ their families – they disown them!“
