'Disappointed' Thomas Markle Sounds Off About Megxit In New Statement

Thomas Markle just doesn’t know when to keep his mouth shut.

As royal experts will already be aware, Meghan Markle‘s father has done nothing but cause trouble for her and has proven he just wants his 15 minutes of fame, not a relationship with her or Archie Harrison as he claims.

Hours after the announcement from Meg and Prince Harry that they will be dialing down their duties this year, the 74-year-old issued an icy six-word statement to Us Weekly:

“I’ll just simply say I’m disappointed.”

Do we really care about how he feels? No.

TBH, he’s probably not saying much just yet because he wants to see how much he can get paid for an interview on-air. We’ll see you on the telly in a few days, Thomas.

In case you’re not up to speed on the relationship between Mr. Markle and the Duchess of Sussex, we’ll catch you up. He first became the subject of media spotlight ahead of the May 2018 royal wedding and ultimately did not attend as he was recovering from heart surgery as well as major public controversy.

Days prior to the royal affair, it was revealed he staged paparazzi photos in exchange for money, which obviously became circulated information. Meg’s elder half-sister Samantha Markle (who has also done her part in severing the family ties) later claimed that it was per her suggestion, but the damage was already more than done. Not long after, he admitted to lying and expressed remorse for his decision, though he aired private laundry in the months to come via paid televised interviews.

All of these missteps on his part caused irreversible damage to their relationship, but the worst was yet to come. In February 2019, he publicized a five-page handwritten private letter sent to him in August 2018 by the newly married Meghan saying the actions he took prior to her big day had broken her heart.

Today, this letter is at the epicenter of a lawsuit filed in October by the Duke and Duchess against The Mail On Sunday where it was originally published. We HIGHLY doubt things will ever be warm and fuzzy between the father and daughter, but we can only hope baby Archie is shielded from this in the future.
