There was so much to see during the weekend’s annual Trooping The Colour event, even something this beautiful was easy to miss!
We mean, can you blame anyone for being distracted by Prince Louis‘ adorable antics?
But there was one gift quietly on display at Queen Elizabeth‘s Birthday Parade — and it wasn’t for Her Majesty.
No, in Meghan Markle‘s first public appearance since giving birth to baby Archie, fans noticed a little something new and sparkly. And just not maternal pride.

Ah, there it is.
On her ring finger, above her big, flashy engagement ring and her gold wedding band, there is very clearly a thin new ring set all the way around with diamonds.
So what ring would she put above those two, closest to her heart?
Well, the pavé style is a major hint. (Fun fact: Pavé is from the French for “to pave” — because a ring in the style looks like a road paved with diamonds!)
It’s gotta be an eternity ring, right?!
While an engagement ring’s big central stone catches the eye, an eternity ring is a more longterm statement.
Also called an infinity ring, it represents eternal love and commitment with a continuous circle of identical diamonds.
An eternity ring is usually given on an important anniversary — and Meghan and Prince Harry just had their one-year on May 19. A couple’s year one gift is supposed to be paper, but we imagine any new bride would let that one slide…

Of course, there’s another theory.
The other important milestone that passed since the last time we saw Meghan out and about was the birth of her first child.
So we could well be looking at the Prince’s push present.
The trend of presenting a new mom with a precious gift for pushing out that baby is not in keeping with British tradition, but it’s picked up a lot more traction in the U.S. over the past few years — especially among celebs.
In 2011, Mariah Carey famously got a diamond and sapphire necklace from Nick Cannon after the birth of Dem Babies. And just last year Travis Scott bought Kylie Jenner a $1.4 million Ferrari LaFerrari!
Considering how much time Meghan spent in Hollywood, it’s possible it’s just the kind of thing she expects.
Then again, maybe it’s an apology gift for going through with that lunch with Donald Trump after he called her “nasty” in front of the entire world. Ick!
