What can’t Meghan Markle do?
The Duchess of Sussex has been making waves since she began dating Prince Harry, and continues to do so as a full-fledged member of the royal family.
Now it’s about so much more than just doing things differently; she uses her position for good (unlike those calling her nasty on tape), and is influencing those around her and around the world.

Style Choices
Did you know that royals aren’t allowed to accept clothing as gifts? That’s right, Meghan pays for her wardrobe with her own money! Unlike other A-listers (and likely how she dressed for outings pre-royalty), who are gifted designer pieces for events or are allowed to borrow outfits and jewels, Miz Markle’s wardrobe is all on the royal family’s dime.
While she does regularly mix high and low end pieces together, like dresses and jeans from H&M with Valentino coats and Ralph Lauren clutches, this new momma has A LOT of public engagements that she needs outfits for, including plenty of outfits to fit her baby bump while she was pregnant, so we can only imagine what her super-chic closet looks like. We’re sure Archie is going to be just as stylish as his momma!
It’s more than just her fashion choices, her striking dark hair is often down in loose waves or pulled back into a messy chignon as it was on her wedding day. Her go-to “no makeup” makeup look leaves her looking fresh faced yet polished, with enviable clear skin. Can you say #goals?!
Feminist Works
Flashing back to her days of running The Tig and her work with the United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women as an Advocate, the El Lay native proudly proclaimed in the 2015 speech for which she’s become known for, “I am proud to be a woman and a feminist,” and she (obviously) isn’t letting the rules and regulations of the royal family stop her from speaking her mind!

Philanthropic Passions
In January, the Duchess of Sussex’s official list of patronages she’ll be supporting was announced, and they’re all very fitting for the former Suits star! Currently, Archie’s momma will be doing her charity work with: National Theatre, The Association of Commonwealth Universities, Mayhew, and Smart Works.
Both of her duties with the National Theatre and The Association of Commonwealth Universities were passed on to her by the Queen, which shows how much the Queen knows her granddaughter-in-law!

As for her other two charities, Kensington Palace announced she would be working with the animal welfare organization Mayhew, and Smart Works which trains unemployed women and gives them tools to regain employment.
In addition, Meg serves as the Vice President of the Queen’s Commonwealth Trust, which raises money to support youth leadership in the Commonwealth countries, and her husband is the President.
Royal Changes
Long before Meghan was ever in the picture, Harry was often referred to as the rebel of the family, and his wife is pretty similar! Aside from being the first biracial American woman to marry into the Windsor line, Meg is also a divorcée (she reportedly had a ‘pregnancy contract’ with her ex-husband, good riddance!) AND was brought up Roman Catholic (she had to have a secret baptism ceremony before her wedding), so there were more than a few hoops that the couple had to jump through to solidify their relationship in the eyes of Buckingham Palace.
If anything, this could serve as a lesson that NOTHING, even a monarchy and centuries of tradition, can stand in between true love.
Awww!
With raising her son, it’s been rumored that Meghan has chosen not to have a nanny, and that she was staying true to her El Lay roots with New Age pregnancy practices ahead of her birth. Ultimately, she opted to deliver him in a different hospital than where her late mother-in-law and sister-in-law gave birth to their children.
