Meghan Markle & Prince Harry Are 'Hoping' To Spend The Summer In California

California, here come the Sussexes!

As you’re well aware, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have set up camp in Canada with baby Archie Harrison for the time being, but before going up north was ever a rumor, the former actress’ homeland was floated around as a possibility. Now, it seems like it could become a reality!

An insider shared with E! News:

“They have started to look at homes online and are in the process of interviewing security teams. They are getting their ducks in a row and seeing if it’s logistically possible.”

Meg knows the area well since she grew up here and still has a lot of connections in the area! We’re sure it won’t be too hard to find a place they like, but the real question will be about security. Previously, it had been rumored the Suits alum’s designer friend Misha Nonoo and her husband Michael Hess had offered up one of three family homes in the ultra-exclusive gated Malibu Colony — AKA “Billionaire’s Beach” — though it is unclear if they’ll be taking the couple up on that offer.

Malibu or not, we’re excited to see them on the best coast!

Aside from a house, they’re also focused on finding a “team of locals” to rely on, the source spilled:

“They’ve reached out to people in L.A. and would like to assemble a team of locals.”

Understandably, the pair “is hoping to find something that will fit their needs.” The confidant explained:

“Meghan would like to be able to do meetings at the house and also be able to host friends and entertain. Those are two things that are important to her.”

Totally get it! She’s been away from her family (AKA her mom Doria Ragland) and many loved ones for the past two years. Their camp has yet to say whether or not the rumors are true just yet, but keep your eyes peeled in your local Whole Foods come summer, everyone!

Meanwhile, there are still some logistics that need to be taken care of back across the pond. As you’re likely aware, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have been involved in a few lawsuits against media organizations as of late, and there’s been a new update in that department.

The Independent Press Standards Organisation has sided against Prince Harry after receiving a complaint from the 35-year-old about coverage published in The Mail On Sunday (the tabloid Meg and Harry are targeting in another suit) about wildlife photos shared to the Sussex Instagram account in April 2019. An article was published in the outlet which claimed the animals were “drugged and tethered,” and argued Harry had “notably avoided explaining the circumstances in which the images were taken.”

Prince William‘s brother filed a claim a few months later, accusing the publication of breaching the accuracy clause of the Editors’ Code of Practice. Unfortunately, he didn’t win the battle this time, but there’s more to come with those other legal matters!
