Melissa McCarthy Talks About Her Body In Progress

Melissa McCarthy Weight
Melissa McCarthy doesn’t conform to what some people would call a Hollywood leading lady. Which is awesome, because we love her regardless of what her body type is, and think that too many roles are handed out to whoever has the most bangin’ body. That’s not right.
It should mostly be about talent and how the character is specifically written. If the role doesn’t call for a supermodel, why cast one that’s really hard to relate to?
Melissa is making waves in both television and film right now, having recently won an Emmy and starring in the wildly successful Bridesmaids.
Yet, she still struggles with her weight:

“I’ve been up and down. I’ve been much thinner since my second baby. I’m still working on it. It’s a work in progress. I hope I wake up at, like, 94 pounds. But I don’t think that’s going to happen. There’s so many other things to worry about. I still worry about it, but I think, my kids are healthy, I’ve got a great husband, and I go to work every day and do what I want.
“I’ll keep working on [my body]. I just can’t put any time to worrying about it.”

Such a great attitude!
We think you’re beautiful. As long as you’re healthy, we don’t see a need to change who you are, unless it’ll truly make you happy. That goes for everyone.
And as a side note: we thought it was incredible that John August had you play Ryan Reynold‘s love interest in the Nines. More casting like that needs to happen!
Congrats on all the recent success, Melissa! You deserve it, and we love you!
