Get it?? Cuz the theme was punk?? LOLz!
Though reps from both Vogue and the Metropolitan Museum of Art have officially said they were thrilled to have Kanye West perform at this year’s Met Gala, sources are saying opinions vary behind the scenes.
After Blondie gave their performance, Yeezy went up as planned. But what wasn’t so planned was his decision to give the audience a taste of his new music — and only that!
One source gives insight into the confusion, saying:
“He played all new tracks that no one knew from his new album, and none of the crowd favorites. His songs were basically screeching into the microphone. Every minute of that gala is programmed, and Kanye went off-program and played whatever he wanted.”
Well if that isn’t punk, we really don’t know what is!
And seeing as how many of night’s attendees didn’t even bother to “get” the theme, we’d be happy that Kanye even showed up to this fake sh*t went all out and brought public attention to the event if it were us!
It is frustrating when people take creative liberties without notice, especially for an event meticulously planned by those who just want a polished evening, but it wasn’t the worst thing that could have happened!
