Buckle up, we have the latest John-Paul Miller update for you… And it’s a doozy.
It’s been nearly one year since the pastor suspiciously revealed his wife Mica Miller died by suicide. Despite evidence seeming to confirm her manner of death, many still blame Pastor JP — calling her death the result of years of abuse at his hands. But now another alleged victim has come forward with her own story!
An anonymous Jane Doe filed a shocking lawsuit against the spiritual leader in Horry County Circuit Court on Tuesday, alleging that when he was 19 years old and she was a minor at just 15 years old, he raped her.
The First Time…
In the suit, Doe claims she attended the All Nations Cathedral Church with her grandparents in 1998 back when it was called the Cathedral Baptist Church of the Grand Strand Inc. At the time, John-Miller’s father Reginald Wayne Miller ran the operation where she met the accused when he was a youth leader. She claims that at one point during a conversation with J.P. at the time, he forced her into his father’s office and later into his truck, where he raped her. Not only was she a minor while he was legally an adult — he was also in a position of authority over her as a church youth leader. That should sound familiar to followers of Mica’s case.

As we’ve previously reported, J.P. is rumored to have groomed Mica from the time she was just 14 years old when she began attending his church. Back then, he had a different wife and four kids. He’s accused of grooming her for years until she was old enough to cheat with and eventually marry… But before that, she served as his babysitter! For his kids! In the marital home he shared with his former wife!
So ICKY! And it lends credence to the idea that he used his authority at the church to prey on young girls and women! Remember, Mica filed for divorce months before her death, claiming she was leaving him “on the grounds of adultery.” So this all just appears to be a twisted cycle!
Mica’s family also firmly lays blame for her death on J.P., claiming he pushed her “to the brink” with his alleged abusive behavior.
The Second Assault
Doe claims she “did not fully comprehend the nature of what had happened to her” for years, as she repressed the trauma — until she unexpectedly ran into J.P. once again in 2023. And get this… She claims that despite the YEARS that had passed and despite being in public, he shoved his hand down her pants and fondled her genitals! Yeah. He Trumped her.
What the actual F**K!
The lawsuit, which also names Solid Rock Ministries, All Nations Cathedral Church, the Cathedral Baptist Church of the Grand Strand, and Reginald, claims the “church was JPM’s sexual playground,” adding that the various religious institutions named in the suit had the opportunity to protect Doe and other victims, but instead “ignored clear warning signs of minors being sexually exploited or abused by church staff, members, or volunteers.” The suit also alleges that J.P.’s father consciously made an effort to cover up his son’s indiscretions to help maintain his position of authority within the church. Just absolutely disgusting… but sadly not unheard of. Churches are all too commonly a hunting ground for predators, especially with youth ministers and impressionable teens.
Doe’s decision to come forward with her accusations was exacerbated by Mica’s untimely passing as she felt “immense guilt” over the belief that had she spoken up sooner, she could have potentially saved others from abuse. That’s so much to carry on her shoulders… But none of this is her fault. She’s not the abuser.
Doe is suing for negligence, civil conspiracy, assault and battery, infliction of emotional distress, and violation of the South Carolina Unfair Trade Practices Act.
