Jeffrey Tambor has, at least, one ally left in Hollywood.
On Sunday, Michael Rapaport took to Twitter to vocalize his support for the disgraced Emmy winner amid the later’s sexual harassment scandal. As we previously reported, Tambor announced he’d be leaving Transparent after both his former assistant, Van Barnes, and his costar, Trace Lysette, hit him with allegations of misconduct.

While Jeffrey has vehemently denied the sexual harassment accusations, he has chosen to walk away from the Amazon hit. This decision came after gossip suggested that those in charge of Transparent were ready to write a season five sans Tambor.
In response to this drama, the Prison Break star passionately defended the Arrested Development alum. Unsurprisingly, Rapaport’s defense of Tambor did NOT go over well online. It all started when Michael wrote:
How you gonna have a show called Transparent without the Transparent.
I’m with #Tambor https://t.co/mgmoCS82vE

Man, oh man. Michael didn’t stop there as, after one fan expressed their disappointment in Rapaport’s stance, the comedian hit back with:
Your assuming he’s guilty of anything he just said he didn’t do shit.

When another follower tried to accuse Michael of supporting sexual harassment, he shot back:
Nope I don’t & I don’t support unproven claims of harassment either.
— MichaelRapaport (@MichaelRapaport) November 20, 2017
Yikes. The back-and-forth with fans continued as he refused to change his Tambor opinion:
Bye Bye come back when you prove he actually did something

Your cool with unproven sexual Harassment?

Nah you got all the fact and answers & you know Tambor & the accuser. Your good https://t.co/vSpyCSsGjJ straight

In order to clarify his position in this controversy, Michael iterated that he no way supports sexual harassment, but he refused to jump to conclusions about Jeffrey. He penned:
I 500% percent don’t support sexual harassment & I 500% don’t support unproven sexual harassment.People taking sides sight unseen. Scarlet lettering Motherfuckers.
Taking sides about accusations by people they will never make eye contact with or look up & fact check
GTFOH

The funny man then shared a video about a man falsely accused and convicted of a rape he didn’t commit (below).
This man was accused, sentenced of rape he didn’t commit did a nice long bid in prison for 45 years.
False Accusation.
I support the victims of sexual assault & I support the victims of FALSE accusations of sexual https://t.co/axnVjDRy4e can support BOTH @TIME pic.twitter.com/POvNoE87Ez

While Rapaport is simply promoting the “innocent until proven guilty” mantra, this is certainly not the climate to be defending those accused of misconduct. We mean, just take a look at what happened to Lena Dunham.
Not to mention, we doubt Tambor’s alleged victims appreciate being accused of lying about harassment. Smh.
Regardless, as Michael isn’t afraid to get into it online, we doubt he’ll be offering up an apology anytime soon!!
