Who caught those pictures of Mike Vrabel and Dianna Russini that kick-started the cheating rumors? The internet has a theory, but it turns out they are way off track!
Earlier this month, speculation that the New England Patriots coach and the former Athletic reporter are allegedly having an affair began when photos of them getting cozy at the Ambiente resort in Sedona, Arizona, in March leaked. In the images, they were seen holding hands, hugging, enjoying breakfast together, and hanging out by the pool!

It seemed like a romantic getaway. However, both Mike and Dianna claimed they were with friends who weren’t in the photos. A source close to him also alleged he, along with other pals, drove up to the area to hang out with Diana and her group before driving back to their own hotel two hours away. He had been at a scouting event at Arizona State University in Tempe on March 27 before going to Ambiente, and he went to the Biltmore Hotel in Phoenix for the NFL Competition Committee meeting after. Dianna had been one of many NFL reporters there, too.
However, three eyewitnesses claimed to Page Six that they actually did NOT see anyone else with the pair at Ambiente. When asked if the former linebacker visited the luxury hotel with other pals, one source insisted:
“No, he was with a girl.”
Yikes!
Since the jaw-dropping pics exposing the alleged affair dropped, fans began speculating online who took them. One theory they’ve come up with? People think Jen Vrabel, Mike’s wife, or Kevin Goldschmidt, Dianna’s husband, became suspicious of the two and hired a private investigator to catch them in the act! Whoa!
As wild as the conspiracy theory is, though not the craziest we’ve heard so far, it is simply… not true! According to TMZ Sports on Friday night, a local couple snapped the bombshell images! They reportedly were vacationing at the Ambiente on March 28 — the same day as Mike and Dianna. The husband happens to be a massive sports fan and instantly recognized Vrabel, so the pair took a bunch of pictures showing them. Wow! Little did they know that they would be exposing a massive alleged affair scandal!
And if the couple hadn’t snapped the pics, who knows then how long Mike and Dianna’s alleged relationship would have continued in secret for! They’ve seemingly been hiding for a while, at least since 2020. More photos came out this week, showing them kissing at a NYC bar! Their romance has allegedly been a known secret in the NFL world for a long time, but no one has said anything publicly until now! So this couple possibly did a favor for their spouses! Maybe even saved them from having to spend the money and hire a PI in the future, too!
