Even though Liam Hemsworth and Miley Cyrus have called off plans to wed, the acting stud is reportedly suggesting that Miley keep the BIG engagement sparkler he gifted her with when he got down on one knee last year.

Sadly, it’s not because Liam plans to eventually get back together with the starlet.

Liam told Miley she could keep the Neil Lane vintage-cut 3.5 carat ring as a momento of what they once were.

OUCH?! Wait, Awww? Wait… how should we feel about this???

A source close to the pair spilled:

“[Liam] wants Miley to keep the ring. He wouldn├óΓé¼Γäót ask for it back. Liam told Miley to keep it and do with it what she wanted. He told her to keep it as a memento of their love affair. When Liam bought that ring, he truly believed he would be spending the rest of his life with her. Now he realizes they are both just too young to be ready for such a big commitment.├óΓé¼┬¥

Not to mention, Liam probably couldn’t predict that Miley would transform from a sweet TV darling into a tongue wagging twerker with a growing dislike for clothing! HA!
