'No F**kin Way' Miley Cyrus Is Performing At The 2019 VMAs After Getting Snubbed!

Miley Cyrus not performing VMAs

Don’t expect Miley Cyrus at the MTV VMAs this year.

The nominations for the 2019 Video Music Awards were announced earlier this week, and, surprisingly, the 26-year-old singer didn’t land a single nod.

Fans were aghast. Many took to social media to announce their boycott of this year’s awards ceremony for not recognizing Miley’s latest work. One user quipped:

“Guess I’m not watching the VMAs this year. Unless Miley performs.”

Well, it looks like that fan definitely won’t be tuning in, as the star herself responded:

“No f**kin way.”

Hmm… we sense some saltiness here.

But where’s it coming from?

One fan seemingly hit the nail on the head, writing on Instagram:

“They care more about a f**king green screen than a message to the world. Nominate anyone but at least do not use the image of Miley to promote their damn prizes @vmas and #SheIsComing #Peace.”

That comment made perfect sense to Miley, who wrote back saying:

“Exactly.”

Well, that’s fair. Artists who aren’t nominated definitely shouldn’t be featured in the event’s promos — especially when there are so many other talented artists that were recognized for their work this year.

Taylor Swift and Ariana Grande unsurprisingly garnered the most VMA nods this year, with 10 each. Billie Eilish was close behind with nine nominations, while the internet’s cowboy Lil Nas X earned eight. Other artists like Shawn Mendes, Cardi B, J Balvin, Camila Cabello, Solange, and FKA Twigs each got multiple nominations, and MTV even tossed one at Bradley Cooper and Lady GaGa for Shallow.

Now, we should note the network has always been vague about the VMA eligibility period and has never revealed the exact qualifications, so it’s unclear if Miley’s latest visual effort — her Mother’s Daughter music video — came out too late.

But her collaboration with Mark Ronson, Nothing Breaks Like a Heart, dropped in November 2018 and still got no VMA love — despite the stylish music video garnering over 135 million views on YouTube.

The former Disney darling could also be extra salty about the snub because of her intimate relationship with the VMAs over the past decade. Who could forget her 2013 twerking on Robin Thicke debacle? Or her not as notorious but still memorable “accidental” backstage nip slip when she hosted the show in 2015?

Miley remembers. But she’s no longer going to be a billboard for a show that doesn’t honor her artistry — and fans are standing behind her.

At least Ashley O could still make an appearance…
