Miley Cyrus Reportedly Undergoes Vocal Cord Surgery After Tonsillitis Hospitalization

Uh oh!

Multiple sources have confirmed to People Miley Cyrus has reportedly had vocal cord surgery and checked out of the hospital, just a few weeks after being hospitalized for tonsillitis.

Apparently, the Malibu songstress discovered an issue with her vocal cords while in the hospital last month, and will have to put all singing on hold until further notice.

An insider close to the artist shared with the publication:

“[Miley is] doing great and will be back and better than ever early next year.”

A second confidant revealed to E! News:

“She is still going to release new music but it’s taking longer than anticipated. Some of it has to do with the throat surgery she recently had.”

During her October hospitalization, the 26-year-old wrote to her Instagram (below) along with a selfie:

“Trying to heal as quick as I can to make it to Gorillapalooza w @TheEllenShow @PortiaDeRossi @BrunoMars this weekend. Send goooooood vibes my way! Hoping the Rock star G*DS send me a boost of bad ass and help me kick this s**t to the curb where it belongs. We got gorillas to save!”

Luckily, she had the support of her hunky BF Cody Simpson to cheer her up and serenade her:

Following her prior hospitalization, the Disney Channel alum shared she was on “vocal rest” but was still able to hit the gym. Penning to her Insta Story, Cyrus wrote:

“ON VOCAL REST NOT BODY”

While previously chatting with the hosts of The Kyle and Jackie O Show, the Aussie native opened up about the sober relationship with his longtime friend:

“We keep each other in a good place. That’s what’s really healthy about it and I think that’s the first time I’ve had that in a relationship. We’re very, very much on the same page.”

He continued:

“I haven’t had a drink in a while. I actually stopped drinking the day I started filming The Masked Singer. Everything since then for me has just been going great, so I kind of owe it all to just being really efficient and sharp. I won the show so it much have worked!”

When asked if he has plans to drink again in the future, he admitted he was unsure, but that his GF feels similarly:

“She doesn’t have plans either to touch it again.”
