So when it was revealed that James Freeman — the man they matched Kenya Moore with — was actually MARRIED, something definitely went wrong somewhere.

We caught up with Millionaire Matchmaker stars Candace Smith and David Cruz at the Reality TV Awards Wednesday night, and each tried to explain the fiasco.

So it turns out that James WAS single when the episode was taped in November, but fell in love with his now-wife a few weeks later (they were married in April).
The real mystery is how Kenya only discovered her beau was married THIS WEEK, a month after he tied the knot? Hmmm …

Unfortunately, neither Kenya nor main matchmaker Patti Stanger were at the awards show, but Patti’s reportedly making amends with the Real Housewives of Atlanta star.
