Mitchel Musso Expains Why He Skipped Hannah Montana Special - And Throws Major Shade!

Mitchel Musso is NOT impressed with the way the Hannah Montana anniversary special played out!

As you know, the Hannah Montana: 20th Anniversary Special was a HUGE moment in pop culture history! Miley Cyrus and host Alex Cooper walked down memory lane with the Hannah Montana set and special guests — but we guess that just wasn’t good enough for Mitchel! Because he had a lot to say about it.

On The Joe Vulpis Podcast Wednesday, the Oliver Oken portrayer confirmed he DID get an offer to return for the special, but he was the one that said no! He explained:

“Of course they asked me [to come back for the special].”

Why did he say no, though? He said it was because they weren’t doing an episode of the show or a movie:

“The kid in me was banking on it, like, I can’t wait for us to all be on set again, and it just didn’t work out that way. Do an episode. Do the show. The set is still there.”

In fact, the actual offer he received wasn’t “presented correctly,” according to him:

“It’s too long of a wait to do it in a way that isn’t even close to, in my opinion, correct.”

But the real bombshell dropped when Mitchel said the anniversary special wasn’t the first thing on his list! He said:

“It wasn’t the right thing, and I was busy doing something that was more important. But it would have been way more important if it would have just been an episode, or a movie. It would have been everything. I would have dropped everything.”

He was “doing something that was more important”?? The SHADE! Since they didn’t do it the way he wanted, he just didn’t turn up… Ouch.

Mitchel was just dead set on wanting to portray Oliver again… and ONLY portraying the character, apparently:

“I’d want to feel the part again. I’d want to put on that little polo again and wear the plaid shorts with the goofy shoes—I’d want to play the character.”
