This is one of the worst cases of awful parenting that we’ve ever seen.
A 3-year-old boy named Austin Davis has died after his 24-year-old mother left him alone for TWENTY HOURS.
The mother’s name is Megan McKeon, and she had left her young boy at their cabin in Steamboat Springs, Colorado on March 26th to go to work at a supermarket. However she didn’t return until the next morning, and she found her son lying on his back, with his eyes open, with no signs of life.
Later on it was revealed that the home the mother and son were living in was absolutely filthy, with human waste lying around, and food all over the ground.
A doctor who later tried to revive the young boy said he was worried that the child had somehow eaten prescription medication.
Where was his dad during all this? Well, Austin’s father is currently in jail for not registering as a sex offender.
The craziest detail, though, that absolutely SHOCKED us was what Megan told investigating officers. We’re not sure if she thought this made her think it was OK to do this or not, but she said she had previously left her son alone for long periods of time TWENTY TIMES before!
In court, Megan was charged with child abuse. There to watch the proceedings was her son’s grandmother who is seething about the loss of her grandson!
Here’s what Charity O├óΓé¼ΓäóKonski said:
“All she had to do was call me. There├óΓé¼Γäós no if, ands or buts to what happened, it├óΓé¼Γäós her fault no matter what happened. She is accountable for that baby. Nothing is ever going to be enough, because he will never come back to us but she took his life away and the only way to take her life away is to let her sit behind those bars and let her think about what she did.”
Police are waiting on the toxicology reports, which they hope will help them understand what caused Austin’s death. Toxicology reports usually take about two weeks.
Just a horrible, horrible story for everyone involved. There’s no way any outcome can replace the precious life of the 3-year-old boy who has passed.
