Mikayla Matthews is sharing why the cast really wanted to temporarily stop filming The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives.
Perezcious readers know production for the fifth season of the Hulu reality show is on pause following an alleged domestic dispute involving Taylor Frankie Paul and Dakota Mortensen last month. And this wasn’t one of their normal fights. There is currently an ongoing investigation into a domestic assault after alarming allegations made by both parties involved, and DCF is involved after Dakota reported her for allegedly abusing their young son.

A lot is going around about exactly why production halted. For starters, although producers wanted to pick up cameras again, they reportedly haven’t because Dakota is a major part of the Season 5 storyline, but he disappeared following the alleged incident with Taylor. The other reason? The whole cast refuses to film right now! And Mikayla is now confirming that really is the case!
During a Q&A session with her Instagram followers on Wednesday, someone asked if production is “actually on pause.” To which Mikayla responded, saying:
“It was a decision that all of us girls came up with and agreed on. We didn’t feel comfortable filming with everything that was happening.”

It’s unknown when or if the show will continue to film at this point. Mikayla didn’t give any indication of when it’ll come back. However, we heard she and the rest of the cast are hoping Taylor can get help first before picking cameras back up. We’ll see.
