Actor Lane Garrison is a free man as of today, Wednesday.
The former Prison Break star was released early this morning from the California Correctional Institute in rural Tehachapi, about 3 hours outside of LA. He was greeted by friends and family and according to a source, “He’s done his time and now he’s looking forward to trying to move on with his life.”
In order to shorten his probation, however, Lane must check into rehab.
Lane was sentenced back in November 2007 after pleading guilty to killing a 17-year-old boy and injuring a 15-year-old girl when he crashed his car with cocaine and twice the legal limit of alcohol in his system.
He received 40 months in prison, but got his time reduced for good behavior and participating in a peer inmate mentoring program.
Last week he agreed to a financial settlement with the victims and family members of the terrible incident.
