As NBC ended the 865 hours of Winter Olympic coverage, viewers got an abrupt surprise!
At 10:29 p.m. ET, Michael Buble had finished his rendition of The Maple Leaf Forever at the closing ceremonies. The camera cut back to a wide shot of the ongoing celebration and then Bob Costas announced:
“We’re back in an hour with the Closing Ceremony party from Vancouver. Nickleback and Avril Lavigne are among the acts that will be performing. But right now we take you to the premiere of Jerry Seinfeld‘s new series, The Marriage Ref.”
WTF?!
But we shouldn’t be surprised. It’s not like the network is known for being sensitive!
