Dorothy Gale is dancing her way onto the small screen! NBC has just ordered a new series based off of L. Frank Baum‘s classic book, The Wizard of Oz!!!
Woo hoo!!! What an AMAZEBALLZ development!
Emerald City will be a “dramatic and modern re-imagining” of the classic tale and will run for a minimum of 10 episodes!!
NBC’s entertainment chairman Bob Greenblatt revealed:
“Who knows? Emerald City could be over after 10 episodes if we feel we’ve plumbed the depths of what we want to do with that show. Or given that there are a number of books to draw from, we could have Emerald City on the air for five years.”
There are reportedly different Oz-based shows in the works at other networks, too! We guess James Franco‘s 2013 hit Oz the Great & Powerful has really revitalized the source material!!
Hmmm, we wonder who they’ll cast as Dorothy?
Maybe Gisele Bundchen is available to put on the ruby slippers once more, LOLz!
