NeNe Leakes is not holding anything back — just like always!
The longtime reality TV star and Real Housewives of Atlanta veteran popped up on The Breakfast Club on Monday to address social media rumors that bubbled up over the weekend about her son Brentt.

The rumors came about after Brentt posted an eye-catching video to his TikTok account on Saturday. In it, the 23-year-old man showed a clip of himself standing in a bathroom. He wadded up a ball of paper in his hand and moved to make a basketball shot towards a trash can sitting by the camera. The caption of his clip is what first drew attention:
“If I miss, I’m gay”
Then, after Brentt missed the shot — badly — he snapped his fingers, popped his hip, and gave a sassy look directly at the camera before walking away.

Down in the comments, fans alternated between being shocked about Brentt’s supposed coming out and claiming that he was, in fact, joking with the funny and sassy clip:
“Brent plzzzzzz where ya mama”
“We been knew boo”
“Yes Friend pop on out.”
“Did he just come out”
“Not sure if this was intentional or just a joke. Either way I’m ok with it”

Well… OK… so what’s the real answer, then?!
Fortunately, the Real Housewives of Atlanta alum was right on cue Monday to discuss it!

In that aforementioned Breakfast Club interview, the 55-year-old Bravo vet explained that Brentt is “not” gay, and appears to have just been playing around in the TikTok clip.
NeNe said:
“Brentt is not gay. Not to my knowledge.”
NeNe admitted she received phone calls from friends who were “concerned” about the video he posted, though. (Why concerned? Gay is great! You know, if you are!) After she fielded a few of those calls, she talked to Brentt herself to ascertain what was going on.
The RHOA alum explained how that conversation went down over the weekend:
“He called me up and was like, ‘Mom, everybody is asking if I’m gay because I did this TikTok thing.’ And I said, ‘it’s OK if you are gay. It’s fine with me.’ And he was like, ‘OK, Mom, I’m not gay.'”
So that’s that, then! Amazed at the TikTok reaction to Brentt’s video, NeNe told host Charlamagne that God that her son’s happiness is “the most important thing” in any situation. And she added:
“I don’t need to ask him, ‘Are you gay?’ What I like to say to people is, ‘whatever makes you happy.’ If my son today says he’s gay, I’m 100 percent OK with it.”
Amen to that!!

FWIW, Brentt re-shared a clip of his mom’s Breakfast Club interview on his Instagram Stories later on Monday along with a few cry-laughing emojis. So, uhh, he was just kidding with the TikTok video then? We guess?
