Netflix CANCELS Sex/Life -- Days After Star Sarah Shahi Said She's 'Never Gonna Work For Netflix Again' While Shading Season 2!

Bad news for fans of Sex/Life!

According to People on Friday, a spokesperson for Netflix confirmed the news that the steamy drama series has been canceled after two seasons! While the spokesperson did not provide a reason for the cancellation, they noted that the second season perfectly wrapped up the main character’s arcs, adding:

“The streamer is proud of the efforts made by the show’s producers, cast and crew.”

(WARNING: SPOILERS!!!) Those who’ve seen the new season know that we saw some closure with Sarah Shahi’s character Billie Connelly storyline as she reunited with her ex-boyfriend Brad – portrayed by her IRL beau Adam Demos – and they got married on a beach. So it does conclude the story nicely, but the news will no doubt leave some viewers extremely disappointed!

But is there more to the story behind the cancellation than just the series’ plot was done? Because innerestingly enough, the decision not to renew the popular drama series comes just days after Sarah slammed Sex/Life!

During an appearance on the Not Skinny But Not Fat podcast on Tuesday, the 43-year-old actress called out the show for being “very gimmicky” in the second season and not giving her the same “support” that she had during season one:

“I’m not going to put it [the show] down, but I definitely did not have the support that I did the first season from the people involved in the show. It became a much different thing for me – and I’m not afraid to say that. That’s part of what I do. I’m not always going to get along or agree with a filmmaker. I’m not always going to like what I have to do or say. But that’s my job, to make it believable.”

She then told the podcast host that she was “never gonna work for Netflix again now after saying all this.” Yikes! And what do you know, four days later, the news dropped that Sex/Life was over! Hmm. Was the streaming service planning on canceling the show long before Sarah’s recent podcast appearance? Or did they decide to cut ties with the Black Adam star because of the podcast episode?! Who knows!

Although Netflix might be done with Sarah, she isn’t hurting for work right now! According to The Hollywood Reporter and Deadline, she is already set to star and produce an upcoming legal drama called Judgement on ABC. Good for her!
