Of all places to do this crazy, dangerous drug, WHY would anyone choose a maternity ward AFTER they just gave birth???
That’s apparently what an Altoona, Pennsylvania woman decided to do on June 17. Carla Murphy was determined “not of sound mind or able to make her own decisions” after hospital staff found her rolling around on the floor of the shower in the nude.
She was given an antipsychotic medication, but she continued to act uncontrollably until she bolted out of her room. She reportedly punched a nurse, kicked another and bit a police officer during her rampage. After she was finally subdued, the new mom was taken to prison due to an outstanding warrant and charged with a whole list of offenses like aggravated assault, disorderly conduct and a number of drug counts.
The authorities believe she smoked a type of bath salt called “blizzard”. After searching her belongings they found a black pen with a substance hidden inside, as well as a package wrapped in medical tape that contained a white substance known as “Disco” — another term for bath salts.
Upon further investigation, her home was littered with all sorts of other drug paraphernalia. She was released from custody three days ago and is due in court on August 8.
We hope she’s getting some drug counseling in the meantime!
