Nicholas Brooks was indicted on Thursday in the death of girlfriend Sylvie Cachay almost a week after the designer was found lifeless in a bathtub at the SoHo House hotel.
Specific charges won’t be announced until his next court appearance on January 4th.
Last week Brooks was charged with second-degree attempted murder and second-degree strangulation, however the Cachay’s death must be ruled a homicide in order for him to face those charges.
The initial autopsy performed by the New York City Medical Examiner came back inconclusive. But secondary tissue and toxicology tests were requested and the results are expected in the next couple of weeks.
