FOX sources are claiming this morning that Nigel Lythgoe will be returning to American Idol as an executive producer.
The official announcement is said to be happening tomorrow, but according to the inside sources, Nigel’s deal has been completed and signed.
Before you get all jumpy, the source didn’t have any insight as to who would be filling out the judge’s chairs this season on Idol, though they could report that it won’t be Nigel. Unlike his gig on So You Think You Can Dance, the Brit is staying behind-the-scenes.
