Nipsey Hussle's Brother Reveals Attempts To Save Rapper's Life As His Accused Murderer Pleads Not Guilty

Nipsey Hussle's brother tried to save his life

Nipsey Hussle’s brother is opening up about his attempts to save the rapper’s life during their final moments together.
On Thursday, days after the Grammy nominee was fatally shot outside of his Los Angeles clothing store, Samiel Asghedom told The Los Angeles Times that he pulled up to the scene to discover the aftermath of the shooting: his younger brother lying on the ground in a blood stained shirt.

Asghedom said he’s still having trouble processing the shooting — which he called an “execution” — that came in a community the rapper worked so hard to improve. He explained:

“It doesn’t make sense that somebody from the area, that just snuck up, and just talked to him and shook his hand minutes before. It’s mind-boggling.”

After arriving at the Marathon Clothing Company on Sunday and seeing his bloodied brother with a bullet hole in his leg, Asghedom said he called 911 and was told to perform CPR on the Double Up performer by the operator.
Asghedom explained that the operator guided him through the process step by step until the paramedics arrived. By that point, a crowd had begun to form around the dying rapper.
Once the paramedics arrived, they put a breathing tube down Nipsey’s throat, inserted an IV into his arm, and loaded him into the ambulance on a stretcher — at which point, Asghedom noticed that his brother also had a gunshot wound in the back of the head.

When he arrived at the hospital, Asghedom said he talked to a paramedic who was a fan of Nipsey and “respected what he was doing in the community.” Then, the medic delivered the bad news and explained that his brother had died.
While Nipsey may be gone, Asghedom said he plans on keeping the star’s legacy as an activist in the El Lay community alive, explaining:

“He made something work in an area that was run-down, that people were scared to come to, and he turned it into a landmark. All races. Different states. Many countries. They all come to Crenshaw and Slauson. He was truly the people’s champ.”

Speaking to ABC News, Asghedom praised his brother as “somebody that believed in the process of hard work, determination and just the positivity of somebody staying in the area that he grew up in and making something out of nothing.” He added:

“He was a role model to the community, to the kids, and to the mothers and the grandmothers and the community that watched him grow up and seen him as a youngster, a family man, a father, raising his kids.”

As we reported, the 33-year-old died from gunshot wounds of the head and torso. Following his death, the LAPD released a statement asking the public to help them search for the suspected gunman, Eric Holder (pictured below).

After a two-day manhunt, officials tracked Holder down and arrested the 29-year-old, who is believed to have opened fire on Nipsey and two other men (who survived their injuries) over a personal dispute with the rapper.
Holder was charged on Thursday with one count of murder, two counts of attempted murder, and one count of possession of a firearm by a felon, according to the Los Angeles County’s District Attorney’s Office. If convicted, he could face a maximum sentence of life in prison.
During a Thursday press conference, police chief Michel Moore alleged that Holder showed up in front of Nipsey’s store multiple times before shooting him, claiming:

“Mr. Holder walked up on multiple occasions and engaged in a conversation with Nipsey and the others that were there. He left and subsequently came back armed with a handgun and purposefully and repeatedly fired, striking and killing Nipsey Hussle.”

The aspiring rapper entered a plea of not guilty in court on Thursday, and has hired attorney Chris Darden, who was famously a part of the legal team in O.J. Simpson’s murder trial.
