Nipsey Hussle Was Doing A Good Deed Right Before He Was Fatally Shot -- Plus, More Details On His Alleged Shooter

Nipsey Hussle was doing a good deed before he was shot

The music industry is grieving in the wake of Nipsey Hussle’s death, with many commending the Grammy nominee for making a positive impact on the lives of others.
To those who knew him personally, it should be no surprise that the 33-year-old was in the middle of a good deed at his South Los Angeles store right before he was fatally gunned down.
Sources connected to the rapper tell TMZ that the reason he was at his Marathon Clothing Store on Sunday is because he was trying to hook up an old friend who just got out of prison with some new clothes so the ex-con could look good before meeting up with his friends and family later that day.
Nipsey’s friend reportedly had just been released from prison after spending 20 years behind bars, so the Double Up performer apparently made a spur of the moment decision to hook his pal up with some Marathon swag.

The rapper didn’t tell his team or primary security guard that he would be making the solo trip to the store, which is why no one in his camp was aware he’d even left his home.
Nipsey’s former prison friend was one of the other two people who were injured in Sunday’s shooting. The third male was reportedly the friend’s nephew, who drove him to the El Lay store.
As we reported, Nipsey and the other two men were gunned down by a shooter who walked up to the three of them and fired multiple rounds before fleeing in a waiting car. The gunman reportedly circled back to shoot the rapper multiple times, then kicked him in the head before leaving. Nipsey died from his wounds to the head and torso.
The Los Angeles Police Department has since identified the suspected gunman as 29-year-old Eric Holder, who was arrested on Tuesday after attempting to receive treatment at a mental health facility in Bellflower, California.

While the shooting was initially thought to be gang related, officials are now said to be speculating that it stemmed from a much more personal dispute.
The Blast reports the rapper is believed to have shunned Holder after the guy tried approaching him for a conversation, because Nipsey apparently pegged the guy as a snitch. After supposedly getting snubbed, Holder allegedly returned to the scene with a gun and opened fire.
This isn’t the first time Holder has found himself in legal trouble. Over the years, he’s been arrested for weapons and domestic violence related charges that have landed him in anger management counseling.

The suspect was arrested back in 2012 in El Lay and charged with two felonies for carrying a loaded firearm. He went on to work out a deal with prosecutors and pled no contest to one felony charge and was sentenced to six months in L.A. County jail.
Holder was ordered not to “own, use or possess any dangerous or deadly weapons, including firearms, knives or other concealable weapons,” per The Blast sources.
Years before his arrest over the firearm possession, Holder was arrested in 2009 and charged with domestic battery against his baby momma. He worked out a deal to complete an anger management treatment program and stay 100 yards away from the woman.
The accused murderer’s anger management treatment program was classified as level 3, meaning a minimum 36 hour – 52 hour course that covers handling stress, talking out problems, and taking time outs.
Sources familiar with the situation say that Holder had been treated for mental health issues in the past. He is currently being held on $7,040,000 bail for Nipsey’s murder.
