So very sad.
This isn’t a terrible dream that we’re about to wake from, Latina superstar Jenni Rivera really has passed.
The National Transportation Safety Board just confirmed they searched the wreckage of the wrecked plane carrying the Mexican-American recording artist and six other passengers and there were indeed no survivors.
The NTSB press release stated:
“On Dec. 9, 2012 at about 3:30 a.m. local time, the airplane crashed about 70 miles south of Monterrey, Mexico, due to unknown circumstances while en route to Mexico City, Mexico. All 7 persons on board were fatally injured including Latin singer Jenni Rivera.”
Ugh. That explains why they found her torn up license as the scene of the accident.
Confirming his own suspicions from earlier, Mexican Transportation and Communications Minister Gerardo Ruiz Esparza spoke to the Televisa network and added some additionally gruesome information.
He said:
“…’There is nothing recognizable, neither material nor human’ in the wreckage.”
That’s absolutely horrific!
What an absolutely tragic turn of events.
We can’t imagine how heartbroken her family must feel at this time.
Our sincerest well-wishes continue to extend to everyone affected by this gut-wrenching turn of events.
