Olivia Jade's Return To YouTube Was A 'Big Betrayal' To Her Family

Olivia Jade made the bold decision to return to her YouTube channel 10 days ago, while the fate of her parents Lori Loughlin and Mossimo Giannulli is still uncertain.

Per an Us Weekly source, the Fuller House alum was not too thrilled with her daughter’s choice of timing to make her comeback after being relatively silent online for most of the year.

The insider revealed:

“Lori was very clear in telling Olivia to remain quiet and not do anything controversial.”

ICYMI, she already crossed that bridge a few months ago when she flipped the bird at multiple publications, ourselves included, who have been reporting on the ongoing legal drama. But we digress…

Apparently, the 20-year-old “had enough” of not being able to speak her mind (again, she kinda already did that) and now, her defiance has caused an even bigger gap in the already divided family:

“Olivia’s YouTube video was a big betrayal. And cracks in the family are starting to show.”

Despite the fracture, the mother-daughter duo is doing their best to mend their fragile relationship:

“There were major tensions between Olivia and Lori when the scandal first broke. She feels bad for them and has been spending more time at home.”

The insight from this source is nearly in direct contrast of what a previous insider, who spoke out to ET following the December 1 video drop, had to offer:

“YouTube was an important part of Olivia’s daily life and her brand, so when she stepped away from it she felt there was a void in her life. She was used to interacting with her followers and fans. YouTube really was a way of life for her and when it suddenly stopped she felt like an important part of who she is was just cut off.”

Like a rower fish out of water!

In the two-minute vid, the disgraced beauty guru mentions being unable to discuss her parents’ ongoing case, which was likely per the request of their legal team and a condition of her return:

“Her life has always been so public and she had a life she was proud of, but the backlash, in the beginning, was more than she could take. Lori encouraged her to step away because it was brutal. Now that she has returned, she has been told that she cannot discuss her mom and dad or the ongoing case. Her parents are both supportive of her going back to YouTube, as long as she sticks to that rule.”

At the end of the day, the couple is focused on staying out of jail and has reportedly been undergoing grueling preparation sessions with their lawyers so they can hopefully maintain their freedom once everything is said and done:

“Both of her parents encourage her entrepreneurial efforts. They know she needs to be prepared for the criticism and scrutiny that will follow her when stepping back into the public eye. They are 100% aware not everyone will welcome her back with open arms and they are even expecting a certain amount of backlash. Right now, Lori’s focus is on the legalities of the case and fighting for her freedom. She really doesn’t have time to worry about what the general public thinks. She just wants what’s best for her daughter and she wants Olivia to be happy.”
