This is just terribly sad to hear.
Just weeks after Olivia Newton-John announced that her sister had been diagnosed with brain cancer, Rona Newton-John has passed away.
The Grease actress broke the news on her Facebook account, writing:
“My beautiful sister Rona sadly passed on May 24th in Los Angeles. It was May 25th in Australia – which was our mother Irene’s birthday. Rona died of a very aggressive brain tumor and mercifully suffered no pain. She was surrounded by the love of her four children – Fiona, Brett,Tottie and Emerson and, her wonderful friends. I will miss her forever – my beautiful, smart, talented, funny, brave sister Rona.”
She went on to ask supporters to donate money to the Olivia Netwon-John Cancer & Wellness Centre where she will be naming a brain cancer facility in her sister’s honor.
Hopefully people will donate to causes like this and we will eventually find a way to put an end to all of the pain and suffering caused by cancer.
Our thoughts and love go out to Olivia and her family at this incredibly difficult time.
