This is pretty cool.
Lots of people have begun tweeting about the olympics because the summer games are so dang close!
Well EDF Energy, the official energy supplier of the 2012 games, is listening.
They got a company to help them engineer “the world’s first social media driven light show.”
That means that they have a program that will look at every tweet about the olympics and rate them as positive, negative or neutral.
Positive tweets turn the lights yellow, negative purple and neutral green.
Certain words and phrases like “omg” or “brilliant” or “totes amazeballs” (yes, those are all real) will make a tweet very positive.
Words like “failure” will make the lights more purple.
Even punctuation can effect a tweet’s strength.
The show will take place at 9 p.m. London time and will be live streamed HERE.
What a cool idea! C’mon people, let’s get tweeting!
