Wednesday marks such a monumental moment!
Five years ago, Simon Cowell joined together five souls in musical matrimony, that would go on to be the biggest boy band in recent history.
Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, Liam Payne, Niall Horan, and Zayn Malik were forced to form a group on their season of X Factor after individually getting cut from the singing competition.

One Direction was given a second chance on the show, and went on to secure third place overall. But it’s safe to say the fivesome might as well have won.
1D became a global sensation, and Harry took to Twitter on the group’s anniversary to share sentimental statuses about their incredible journey:
We have been a band for five years. And it is impossible to thank anyone enough for all the support they have given us over this time..

All the crew that we have been so lucky to work with, and everyone who is behind the scenes. We thank you for everything that you do.

To you who support us, in any way, thank you. We wouldn’t be here without you. You did this and we thank you for having us. All the love

The guys have faced a decent amount of drama, especially recently, but it’s refreshing to see the British boy band members remain grateful for all the incredible experiences that have come their way!
But now that they’ve dropped to four members, it’ll be interesting to see if the guys will still be together for another five years.
What do think? Will 1D go strong for a full decade? Or will the remaining boys go their separate ways?
