More than 60 people staged a sit-in at the San Diego County clerk’s office on Wednesday “in support of Michael and Brian, a couple who have twice been denied today a marriage license.”
One of the protesters reached out to The Advocate, reporting that even though authorities threatened to arrest the group, they only escorted them outside of the building.
The protesters, however, had been prepared to be arrested, and as they sat they sang songs and exchanged Stonewall recollections.
As the protesters emerged from the building escorted by police, they were greeted with cheers.
Big ups to them!
Civil disobedience doesn’t happen without the DISOBEDIENCE.
