We know Lee Daniels and Oprah are besties, but had no idea he wanted to see the OWN queen nekked on the big screen for The Butler!
In a new interview, Lady O is opening up about Lee’s directorial skills and his incessant nagging to have her take it off for the cameras!
She exclaimed:
“We had to keep trying to tame Lee. You have to harness him in a little bit. Because if it were up to him, I├óΓé¼Γäód have had three love scenes and been naked on the couch, smoking marijuana! But I talked him out of it. He wanted me in a naked scene with Terrence Howard! Get out of here! And he would have had the f-word coming out of my mouth every other sentence if it weren├óΓé¼Γäót for the PG-13 rating. It├óΓé¼Γäós calmed down.”
LOLz!
But the fact that these two buds shared a set really helped her get into character! She explained that Lee got her doing things out of her comfort zone from the beginning:
“The fact that he can make me├óΓé¼ΓÇ¥for a dance scene that now lasts less than 40 seconds├óΓé¼ΓÇ¥dance for six hours straight, and is going, ├óΓé¼┼ôFaster! Faster! More! More!├óΓé¼┬¥ I think he gets a kick out of it.”
O also revealed how her on-set performance became more alcohol infused as the days went on:
“My character progressively becomes an alcoholic and there was this scene where├óΓé¼ΓÇ¥good LORD today├óΓé¼ΓÇ¥Lee is saying, ├óΓé¼┼ôDrunker! Do the line, she├óΓé¼Γäós drunker!├óΓé¼┬¥ And at one point I go, ├óΓé¼┼ôLee, if she├óΓé¼Γäós any drunker she├óΓé¼Γäós not sitting up anymore.├óΓé¼┬¥ And he├óΓé¼Γäós like, ├óΓé¼┼ôDRUNKER!├óΓé¼┬¥ I├óΓé¼Γäóm like, ├óΓé¼┼ôOh my God, what is happening here?├óΓé¼┬¥ But anyway, I suppose it would surprise a lot of people that I can take direction so well, because it├óΓé¼Γäós very hard for me to stay out of it!””
Lee Daniels’ The Butler opens Aug. 16, and we can’t wait to see Oprah’s drunk return to the movies!
