Oscar-nominated actress Jill Clayburgh passed away at the age of 66 on Friday.
She was best known for her portrayals of strong, independent female roles, including the role in 1978’s An Unmarried Woman, in which she was nominated for an Oscar.
Her recent TV work included guest appearances on Law & Order, The Practice, Nip/Tuck, and as a regular cast member on Dirty Sexy Money from 2007-2009.
She once said, “I guess people look at me and they think I├óΓé¼Γäóm a ladylike character. But it├óΓé¼Γäós not what I do best. I do best with characters who are coming apart at the seams.”
Clayburgh suffered from chronic leukemia for 21 years and died in her home in Lakeville, Conn.
So sad.
