Kobe Bryant's Best Animated Short Win Makes Him Yet Another Problematic Oscar Winner!

no title
The #MeToo movement was front and center at the 2018 Oscars on Sunday, featuring jabs at ousted Hollywood predators and empowering speeches about how Time’s Up.
This made it extra awkward when Kobe Bryant won an Academy Award for Dear Basketball, the animated short film based on his basketball retirement letter.
Why? Because in July 2003, the NBA legend was arrested in Eagle, Colorado and charged with sexual assault after being accused by a 19-year-old hotel employee of rape.
The accuser, who stated that Bryant raped her in his hotel room the night before he was to have knee surgery, refused to testify and the suit was settled out of court.
Ironically, Bryant’s win puts him on the same list as the very problematic Oscar winners Hollywood is trying to rid itself of.
Will time ever be up on this hypocrisy? Maybe next year! Until then…
