2018 Oscars Are Looking To Be The Worst Rated EVER In Academy Awards History!

Looks like Macaulay Culkin wasn’t the only one who boycotted the Oscars this year!
The early ratings for ABC‘s telecast of the prestigious awards ceremony are significantly down from last year, and are shaping up to be an all-time low.
According to the 56 overnight markets measured by Nielsen, the nearly 4-hour broadcast averaged a 18.9 rating — a 16% decrease from last year’s 22.4 rating, which was already the lowest rated ceremony since Jon Stewart hosted in 2008.

The national audience count won’t be issued until later on Monday, but the 2018 broadcast may have very well drawn the smallest audience in Academy Awards history.
This can mean one of a few things: few watched the nominated films, people really don’t like Jimmy Kimmel as much as ABC thinks, or audiences just really weren’t in the mood to watch Hollywood pat itself on the back this year. Or, you know, something about streaming.
Why do you think audiences skipped out on the Oscars this year?
