New details are coming out about Patrick Muldoon‘s death.
As we previously reported, the Days of Our Lives alum died at 57 on April 19. His sister, Shana Muldoon-Zappa, told TMZ he suffered a heart attack. Now, less than two weeks after his untimely passing, we are learning more about his cause of death.

According to a death certificate obtained by Us Weekly on Wednesday, Patrick’s immediate cause of death was a myocardial infarction, also known as a heart attack. The underlying causes include a hereditary coagulopathy disorder, which is a genetic condition that impairs the blood’s ability to form clots properly. The actor also had a pulmonary embolism, which is a blood clot that travels to, blocks, and stops blood flow to a vital artery or the lungs.

The certificate stated Patrick was cremated on Tuesday, as well as listed his occupation as actor and producer, and noted he was never married. However, at the time of his death, he had been in a relationship with Miriam Rothbart, who sadly had been the one to find him unconscious and unresponsive on the bathroom floor of his home the day he died.
It’s such a tragedy. Our hearts continue to go out to Patrick’s friends and family. May he rest in peace.
