Paul McCartney‘s ex-wife’s dreams of being in the Sochi Paralympics came to an end after she allegedly assaulted and verbally abused an official named Sylvana Mestre!
Heather Mills was trying out for a spot on Britain’s ski team, however, the International Paralympic Committee ruled that a prosthetic had NOT been approved for use in the event, and she wasn’t too happy about it!
According to IPC spokesman Craig Spence, Paul’s ex-wife “flew into a rage” during captains meeting in Austria and began shoving Sylvana and yelling things like “you don├óΓé¼Γäót know who I am, I├óΓé¼Γäóm going to make your life miserable.”
Yikes!!
Craig went on to say that he understands athletes are under tons of pressure, but claims Heather still crossed a line:

“Para-athletes are role models and an inspiration to billions of people around the world. We understand the pressure athletes are under in the lead-up to Sochi 2014 and that Heather has been working extremely hard to achieve her goal. However, there can be no excuse for such aggressive and intimidating behaviour towards such a highly respected and experienced official within the Paralympic Movement.”

Heather lost her leg 20 years ago in 1993 in an accident, and in 2010 she started skiing with the British disability team where she showed tremendous improvement over the years.
Apparently, she had been using the correct equipment up until this summer when she received a new prosthetic from London Prosthetics Centre. The IPC pointed out that it was not up to their regulations and said she would have to wear a cover over it, however, she complained that it added weight and hurt her limb.
The situation obviously came to a boiling point when Heather attacked Sylvana, and now she faces a $1,370 fine and has had her application for the 2014 winter Paralympics withdrawn!
Wow! Maybe she should have just stuck with the original equipment instead!
