Sign Penn Badgley up for Team Hunger Games!
The Gossip Girl Boy is new to the trilogy but he says some similarities in the flick and the Occupy movement.
Penn, who is an avid follower of Occupy Wall Street, said the following about HG and OWS:
It’s the one percent [killing the kids]. I think you’d have to be blind to not see that. I was shocked to see all that in there.
The actor goes on to say that if (SPOILER ALERT) Katniss didn’t revolt, then it would be completely “irresponsible,” stating:
I thought it was just going to be the games. But then I realized, and I thought, ‘If this doesn’t end in revolution, it’s irresponsible, because of everything it’s bringing up.’ If Katniss doesn’t become a f**king revolutionary, then I don’t know what they’re doing. And as it went on, I went, ‘F**k! That’s what they’re doing!’ Which is cool.
