Pete Davidson got real about Ariana Grande in a brand new standup set on New Year’s Eve!
The comedian was performing at a show in Boston on Monday evening when he opened up a bit about his breakup with Ariana, and the resulting thank u, next single that she released — along with that infamous music video — to much fanfare.

Speaking about the song specifically, Pete revealed his surprise about its existence after their split, telling the comedy crowd about how the song came out hours before he had to go perform one of his silly SNL skits (below):
“It was a sad day. We didn’t know it was going to happen. That s**t came out before I had to put on a f**king duck hat and be like, ‘Derrrp here’s the pizza!’ So I start playing it. And [my friends] are all like, ‘Ehhh… it’s ok.’ We’re like ‘Okay, it’s not that bad for you. It’s bad, but it’s not that bad for you.'”

But it wasn’t just Ariana on the brain for Pete at last night’s show — he also delivered a phenomenal joke about Louis C.K., too (below):
“I got a Harry Potter tattoo. Then the next day Alan Rickman, the guy who played Snape died, and I was like, oh, what a weird coincidence. Then I got a Willy Wonka tattoo. Next day, [the film’s star] Gene Wilder dies. Now I’m like, alright, that’s a coincidence, that’s weird. So I’m thinking of getting a tattoo of Louis C.K., what do you guys think?”
HA!!!
