More information is trickling out about the rumored state of Pete Davidson and Elsie Hewitt’s relationship.

Breakup speculation began to buzz around the new parents on Thursday when DeuxMoi posted a tip about an “A list comedian and recent first time dad, often spotted around Brooklyn” who has “quietly split from his lowkey, ‘nonfamous’ girlfriend.” The tip ended:

“Sources say the relationship fizzled just as quickly as it started.”

Neither Pete nor Elsie were named, but the subject line read “Yeet Yeet,” which many believe is a nod to Pete’s Saturday Night Live sketch with Timothée Chalamet.

As we know, Pete and Elsie found out they were expecting a child together last year after just four months of dating. Fast forward to December and they officially became parents to a little girl they named Scottie Rose.

A source pushed back on the split rumors a day later, though, telling People while the two may be having “issues,” they’re trying to work things out:

“There are issues, but they’re trying to figure things out together. They’re adjusting to parenthood and working through the process.”

However, another insider has since told DailyMail.com that friends believe the pair might just be at “the point of no return.”

On Friday, a source told the outlet:

“Not one of Pete’s friends is surprised that there are relationship issues with him and Elsie. This is what he ends up doing always. She was also warned well ahead of time in their relationship to be careful with him, because Pete loves to self-sabotage a good thing.”

The insider claimed the stand-up comedian’s “insecurities are such a crutch for him in his life that he uses humor to make sense of it all … making him the funny guy that all the girls want to fix, when he just might be unfixable.”

“Unfixable”? Ouch! We don’t believe that for a second. But it’s not really up to anyone but Pete to work on himself. And to his credit, it does seem like he’s been doing exactly that for a while now!

Reflecting on his relationship history, the insider noted:

“He rushes into a relationship, it’s all hot and heavy and exciting and before the person he’s dating knows it, they are in an intense all or nothing relationship not knowing how to continue it or stay in it with that continued intensity.”

Prior to Else, Pete notably romanced Kim Kardashian, Kate Beckinsale, Kaia Gerber, and Ariana Grande, whom he proposed to after just a few weeks of dating. As for his relationship with Else, the insider continued:

“And now they are parents, which they love, but the pregnancy was unplanned and their dynamic immediately changed when she became pregnant, and they are trying to figure out the next steps as they want to be together for their kid, but it just might not be their endgame.”

Parenthood is undoubtedly difficult, especially if there isn’t a solid foundation between partners. Not saying that’s the case for Pete and Elsie, but things certainly seemed to be on the fast track for them!

The insider corroborated the prior claim that the pair are not “fully broken up,” but noted things are “absolutely leading to it.” We hope not! That’s reportedly not what either parent wants, either… As may know, Pete tragically lost his father Scott on 9/11, so he “doesn’t want the relationship to end because he wants his daughter to have the luxury of having a complete family, something he wasn’t afforded himself.”

Awww.

As for Elsie, she “would like that to happen as well, but dealing with Pete can be very overbearing,” according to the insider.

“They don’t know if they want to do counseling, but they are going to try to figure out something and putting it out there that there are actual problems in the relationship may be the first thing to make or break their relationship. Whether or not it will continue is something we will know relatively quickly. Many expect that they are at the point of no return.”

How sad! We’re holding out hope for the Hewitt-Davidson family!

This comes just four months after the couple raved about parenthood and even discussed having another child. In January, Pete told Us Weekly:

“We want her to have a friend, for sure. We love the idea of her being a big sister.”

Elsie added at the time:

“The idea of making another one and making a sibling is something I’ve already been like, ‘I want to do it again.’ They’re so tiny when they come out, and they grow so fast. It’s crazy.”
