Well this sure makes for an awkward time at the office!
Days after a VERY public interview in which he called out and criticized his Saturday Night Live co-workers, comedian and sketch star Pete Davidson was noticeably absent from the show’s after-party. And judging by the reaction to his departure at 30 Rock, things are about to get super-awkward on set this coming week!

According to an insider who spoke about the matter to ET, the 26-year-old comedian was a no-show at Saturday night’s post-show bash, instead opting to lay low and do his own thing while avoiding the co-stars he had so publicly criticized just days before.
As you’ll no doubt recall, Davidson got into hot water for recent remarks made in an interview with Charlamagne Tha God, which was posted to YouTube and quickly went viral. During the chat, Davidson described the environment at SNL as ‘cutthroat,’ and spoke openly about whether he’s on the show to make jokes, or for people to make jokes about him.
The source reports that Davidson’s absence from the traditional after-party generated “a lot of conversation,” too. And it’s doubly weird considering the funnyman didn’t skip out on the show itself — obviously, he was involved in skits with good friend and guest host John Mulaney that night. Still, even though he showed up for work on the day of, he apparently didn’t want to fraternize with cast members afterwards. Awkward, indeed!

FWIW, Mulaney was at the after-party with the rest of the SNL cast and others, including high-profile stars like Harry Styles, Chris Rock, Larry David, Lindsay Shookus, Jake Gyllenhaal, and Fred Armisen.
The source notes that even in Davidson’s absence, the party went on as planned, with this little tidbit revealing some of the details of the fun night out in NYC (below):
“Lorne Michaels immediately found his way to the dining area upon arrival, to enjoy the fare, which included Thai spring rolls and sliced avocado. He held court in the center of the restaurant and was seen laughing with Armisen and funnyman Mike Birbiglia.”

What do U think about this whole controversy, Perezcious readers?! Davidson is obviously skipping out on the after-party because of the awkwardness after his interview, right?? So why not just leave the show altogether then?!
